Job Description
- Own end-to-end functional testing for cloud-based applications — covering functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing across all release cycles.
- Collaborate closely with the SRE team to support cloud release management: participate in deployment validation, monitor release pipelines, coordinate smoke tests post-deployment, and contribute to release readiness sign-offs.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright; continuously expand automation coverage to reduce manual regression effort and accelerate release confidence.
- Translate business requirements and user stories into comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases; maintain test documentation aligned with Agile sprint cadences.
- Identify, log, and triage defects with clear reproducibility steps and root cause analysis; work directly with developers to drive timely resolution.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives as the QA voice; proactively surface risks and quality concerns early in the development cycle.
- Research and evaluate emerging QA trends and tooling; provide recommendations to improve team processes, coverage, and overall quality metrics.
- Work independently across multiple concurrent projects and priorities without requiring close supervision, escalating blockers and communicating status proactively.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of hands-on functional QA experience testing cloud-based web applications in a SaaS or enterprise software environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with SRE or DevOps teams on cloud release management, deployment validation, and production readiness activities.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI and end-to-end test automation; ability to design and maintain scalable, reusable test frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of modern QA methodologies, including test planning, risk-based testing, and quality metrics reporting under Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Experience with API testing (REST/SOAP) using tools such as Postman or similar; solid understanding of JSON and XML data formats.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests into build and deployment workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent).
- Strong SQL skills and ability to perform backend data validation against relational databases.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; proven ability to isolate defects and conduct root cause analysis in complex, distributed systems.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills; ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced Agile environment.
