Principal AI Engineer

In this role, we are looking for an experienced Senior AI Engineer – Generative AI Platforms to join our Industrial Automation Digital Organization. The role requires a highly skilled software engineering professional with expertise in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, cloud-native application development, and AI platform engineering. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying production-grade AI solutions while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to build secure, scalable, and intelligent enterprise applications.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation – Automation Digital organization in Bangalore, India. Main stakeholders include Product Management, AI/ML Engineering, Data Science, Platform Engineering, DevOps, UX Design, Architecture, and Software Engineering teams.

You will be mainly accountable for

• Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end Generative AI applications by building LLM integrations, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, Agentic AI workflows, AI APIs, and cloud-native enterprise solutions using modern AI frameworks and engineering best practices.
• Develop scalable AI platforms using Python, .NET, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native technologies, while implementing prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, AI governance, model monitoring, responsible AI practices, and secure deployment strategies.
• Collaborate with Product Management, AI/ML Engineering, Data Science, Platform Engineering, UX Design, and Software Engineering teams to define solution architectures, translate product requirements into technical implementations, and deliver reliable, high-quality AI-enabled products.
• Drive engineering excellence by leveraging AI-assisted development tools, contributing to architecture standards, mentoring engineering teams, evaluating emerging AI technologies, and continuously improving software quality, developer productivity, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications for the Role

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years designing and developing AI, Machine Learning, or Large Language Model (LLM)-based applications.
• Strong programming expertise in Python and .NET, with hands-on experience developing enterprise-grade AI applications using LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Prompt Engineering, LangChain, n8n, MCP, A2A, and related AI frameworks.
• Experience designing cloud-native applications using Kubernetes, containerization technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices, with strong understanding of AI application architecture, evaluation methodologies, and Agentic AI patterns.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into user-facing applications, working with frontend technologies, and utilizing AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar coding assistants.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, SDLC, design patterns, cloud platforms, DevOps methodologies, AI governance, model evaluation, monitoring, and responsible AI practices.
  • Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in global cross-functional teams. Experience in Industrial Automation, Manufacturing, Energy, Process Industries, or Digital Platforms is considered an advantage.
